Emma was born in 1865[1] She was the daughter of Robert Gaul and Ruth Harper. She was living with her parents and siblings in St Saviour, Norfolk, England and she was attending school in 1871[2] She was still living with her parents and siblings in Magpie Road, Norwich St Augustine, Norfolk, England and she was working as a Machinist in 1881[3] She married Albert Farrow in Norwich, Norfolk, England in 1883[4] She was living with her husband and children at Stacy Road, Norwich, Norfolk, England in 1891[5] She was still living with her husband and children at John Street, Norwich, Norfolk, England in 1901[6] She was widowed in 1904. She was living with her children in Norwich, Norfolk, England in 1911[7]
