John Allen Gaulden was born December 13, 1937 to Earl and France Gaulden in Laurens, South Carolina. He was very mechanically inclined and as a hobby, built a jeep from scratch in his parents backyard. Another hobby was flying - he was a pilot. Her served in the US Military after graduating from Clemson University, with a BS Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an Engineer for Flour Daniel in Greenville, South Carolina.
He died January 27, 1985 from Cancer - Melanoma and cancer of the brain.
