His Nickname, "Pat". His daughter Joy says in an email to her cousin Betty Jean in an email dated April 10, 2011, "I'd heard family and friends call him Pat for years. He got that name from a family dog when he was a small boy. He followed his dog Pat everywhere so when his mama wanted dad to come in the house she'd call the dog's name and they'd both come running - hence Dad was dubbed 'Pat' and it stuck all his life."
