Biography

In 1850 he and his wife and their four children lived on a farm in Jackson Township, Knox County, OH. He owned real property worth $1400.

In 1860 he and Nancy and their seven children lived on a farm in Macon County, IL. Their post office address was Hopewell. He owned personal property worth $500.

In 1870 he and his wife and their four sons lived on a farm in Maroa Township, Macon County, IL. Daniel owned real property worth $1500 and personal property valued at $300. Calton worked in a printing office.

In 1880 just he and Nancy and their youngest son lived there.

In 1900 he and his wife, their youngest son, his wife, her youngest child, a daughter, from her first marriage (indexed as Nama L Collins, but really Dale Leona Collins), and a farm laborer, 16-year-old Frank Knapp, lived on a farm they were renting in Union Center Township, Elk County, KS.

Died, February 14, 1903, at his home 10 miles southwest of Severy, Daniel Galt, aged 85 years, of dropsy. Funeral services by Rev. Bixby at the Paw Paw U.B. church Monday the 16th, at 1 p.m. Interment in Paw Paw cemetery.
