Biography

James Gaunson was born in Bombala, New South Wales (Australia), in 1867. He was the youngest of five children of William Gaunson and Elizabeth Donovan. [1]

James married Mary Ann Greer in 1909 in Bombala. [2]
James Gaunson is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Aged 49 years, on 23rd October 1916 he enlisted in the Australian Flying Corps to serve his country during The Great War. Posted to the No.2 Squadron he returned to Australia 6th May 1919. [3]

James passed away, aged about 79 years, on 27th June 1946 at 10 Raleigh Street, Coogee, New South Wales. [4] He was survived by his wife and children, Elsie, Sid, Kie, Jack and Judy. [5]
