That means the first Thon of the year will be a Connect-a-Thon on the weekend of the 19 - 22 Jan 2024. I would love to have you with your fellow Legacy Heirs at that time, if it works out for you. I will remind you about registration when that time comes.

P.S. I now know a quick and easy little tip on how to add profiles. If you use the Sourcer/Searcher app, and want to know the hint, let me know and I will send you the steps.

I got your request concerning the merger of Keith Dailey. In 2017 I added this comment:

"It is entirely possible that this should be merged with Dailey-929 but as it is PRIVATE the only thing I can see is his name and the decade of his birth, so I can't really compare them."

I still have no additional information except the death decade. It would be nice to have a little more info to confirm the match such as a parent's, spouse's, or child's name or even some geography. I have no personal knowledge of Keith Daily as connection level to me is 20. But if you want to merge them I have added you to the trusted list.

Hi, I noted you added William Snyder as the child of John Snyder on 5/31/2023. I wonder if you came across any indication of John’s siblings? My 3rd g grandfather was Henry Snyder dob 1799-1802. John’s children’s names are very similar and clise in age to Henry’s. His son William was b 1836 in Clearfield county. I’m having trouble getting beyond that generation.

With regards to the October 2022 Notables thread, I have made a new one and I do apologise for it being late, But, really, I just forgot!! I think I am getting old and maybe brain fog is hanging around. Thanks for your comment to remind me, even if I didn't see that until today!! 3 days later!! LOL

You seem to now be working on some of the family members of the RAPER family of Guilford, NC. I am currently the profile manager of several of these RAPER family members, however, my interest in the RAPER family is more peripheral. I am primarily a ROPER family researcher, but the names ROPER and RAPER are sometimes confused within the early records. This has often resulted in creation of duplicate ancestors with different interpretation of the handwriting, etc. These duplicate records then sometimes get merged.

If you desire to be ADDED as a profile manager of one or more of the RAPER profiles for which I am now nominally shown as the manager, just ASK. I am happy to ADD you. However, I do NOT have the time at the moment to be going through and carefully vetting proposed merges of various instances of RAPER ancestors.

I can look at ancient ROPER ancestors and pretty much instantly know when someone is reintroducing anomalous information. But each time I look at RAPER ancestors, I need to refresh my memory and school myself up.

So it is much easier for me to clean things up when there is a ROPER - RAPER merge proposed than in the instance of a RAPER - RAPER merge, if that makes sense.

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. Please review the following and let us know if you are content where we have placed you or would like to be more involved.

We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1, working on profiles from your own watchlist, from projects in which you are involved, and whatever else you find. Biography Teams Levels 2 and 3 will work on designated profiles for notables (Level 3) and everyday people (Level 2). Please let us know if you would like to help with a higher-level Bio Team or one of the other Teams.

You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018. We would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you would like to work at a higher level on the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile from your own watchlist from the 19th or 20th century, that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.
