Biography

Celesie Gautreaux was born on November 17, 1811 in Plattenville, Assumption, Louisiana, daughter of Pierre Olivier Gautrot (1771–1851) and Julie Céleste Arsement (1773–1851).[1]

Celesie married Joachim Auguste Mire (born before 1810 in St James Louisiana; son of Pierre Beloni (Mire) Le Mire and Anne Henriette Bernard) on 7 November 1831 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thibodaux, Lafourche, Louisiana, United States. [2] Their children were:

  • Joachim Augustin Mire Jr (1828–1867)
  • Jean Baptiste Simeon Mire (1836-1915)[3]
  • Pierre Aurestile 'Aristide' Mire (1838–1900)[4]
  • Marie Emelie Mars (1840–Deceased)[5]
  • Emelie Marie Mire (1842–1912)
  • Mirthe Amelina Mire (1842–Deceased)
  • Numa Mire (1848–1935)
  • Myrte Mire (Deceased)

Celesie died on March 8, 1845 in Thibodaux, Lafourche, Louisiana, United States, aged 33.
