Descendant of Anne Marie Mi'kmaq (abt.1631-aft.1686) mtDNA Hg= A2f1a.

François Gautrot was born in Jun 1685 in La Rivière des Gaspareaux, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of Charles Gautrot (abt. 1661–abt. 1724) and Françoise Rimbault (abt. 1666–1712).

In 1686, at Port Royal, Francois, aged 7, was living with his parents, Charles GOTROT [sic], aged 25, and Francoise RIMBAULT, aged 20. They owned 1 gun and 7 cattle.[1]

"François Gautreau, l'aîné des onze enfants de Charles, vit le jour vers la fin de 1685. Il se maria à Grand-Pré, le 7 octobre 1709, à Marie Vincent, fille de Michel Vincent et de Marie-Josèphe Richard.[2] François et Marie se réfugièrent à l'île Saint-Jean en 1750. Huit ans plus tard, ils périrent en mer pendant l'évacuation des habitants en France."[3]

ENGLISH translation of the above: " François Gautreau , the eldest of eleven children of Charles, was born in late 1685. He was married in Grand Pre, Oct. 7, 1709, to Mary Vincent, daughter of Vincent Michel and Marie- Josephe Richard.[4]Francis and Mary fled to St. John island in 1750. Eight years later , they perished at sea during the evacuation of residents in France. "

Census: 1752 , Isle St. Jean, Acadie; Census of the Anse au Comte Saint- Pierre.[5]

Text: François Gautrot, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 67 years, has been in the colony for two years. Married to Marie Vincens, a native of l'Acadie, aged 62 years.
They have three sons and three daughters :
François Gautrot, aged 28 years ; Charles, aged 22 years ; Pierre Maturin, aged 18 years ; Magdelaine, aged 30 years ; Marie, aged 26 years ; Margueritte, aged 24 years. Their live stock consists of: one ox, two cows, one horse, five pigs, and three fowl. The land on which they are settled is situated on the Anse au Comte St. Pierre; it was given to them verbally by Monsieur de Bonnaventure. On it, they have cleared three arpents in extent.
