MUDGEE MARRIAGE
GAWTHORNE RAYNER
A quiet but very pretty wedding took place at St. John's Church of England, Mudgee, on Saturday last, the contracting parties being John, second son of Mrs. Gawthorne, of West End, Mudgee, and Olive Beatrice, youngest daughter of Mr. W. Rayner, of "Avondale" McDonald's Creek. The Rev. C. C. Dunstan performed the ceremony. Mr. S. Rayner, brother of the bride, gave her away, while Mr C. L. Harvey filled the role of best man. Miss Emily Ritchie was bridesmaid. The bride was dressed in white flowered silk prettily trimmed with marquisette net and large silk buttons. She wore the orthodox wreath and veil, also a gold brooch, gifts of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid was attired in embroidered voile, blue silk streamers, and pretty white lace hat trimmed with blue silk and pink roses. She also wore a gold brooch, gift of the bridegroom. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bridegroom's mother. Rev. C. C. Dunstan presided, and proposed the toast of "The Bride and Bridegroom," Mr. Gawthorne responding. The bride was the recipient of a large number of beautiful and useful presents. The future home of the young couple will be in Mudgee.
