Mace was the son of Lemuel and Abigail (Davenport) Gay
[In 1793 the county name changed from Suffolk to Norfolk.]
He married Sally Vose, daughter of Jeremiah and Hannah (Holmes) Vose, on 24 Jan 1805 at Stoughton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA - children included Eliza, Mace, Lovice, Hannah Vose, and Abigail Davenport Gay
He is buried at Pearl Street Cemetery, Stoughton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA
