According to A history of the Orvis family in America, David Orvis was married on Feb. 5, 1719, at Farmington, Connecticut, to Hannah Gaylord, of Windsor, who was born Sept. 4, 1700, and was daughter of Eleazer and Martha (Thompson) Gaylord.[1]
