Research Notes
Disambiguation
NOTES: The parents in the trees listed below are not conflicting parents. They are parents for two different women, both named Mary Gaylord. One, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Stebbins) Gaylord, married John Day of Hartford, Connecticut. The other, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Hull) Gaylord, married Joseph Griswold of Windsor, Connecticut.
Not one of the five linked trees at FamilySearch listed below gives even a single source (other trees are not sources.) To make matters worse, someone has combined the profiles at Family Search of two different women into one file, again with no sources or evidence.
Primary source records are evidence that the women are not the same.
End of 'Research Notes'.
Conflicting parents? [No. One set of parents for each distinct woman with the same name, and different husbands and parents.]

Griswold, Glenn E. The Griswold family : England-America. (Middleboro, Mass.: Griswold Family Association of America, 1935). Available at Ancestry.com. pg 30-31
The above source (uses primary sources!) shows that Joseph Griswold married Mary Gaylord, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Hull) Gaylord. He died before her in 1716. She could not have married both Joseph Griswold and John Day. John Day's wife Mary Gaylord was his first wife and she died before 1690.
Mary Gaylord the daughter of Walter Gaylord and Mary (Stebbins) Gaylordmay be the Mary who married John Day. Whoever she was she did not marry Joseph Griswold.
I am removing Joseph Griswold as husband of Mary Gaylord daughter of Walter and Mary.
The son assigned to her, Joseph Griswold-684, b. 1676, is a separate issue that needs to be corrected. He should be removed as the son of the wife of John Day, and assigned to Mary (Gaylord) Griswold and her husband Joseph Griswold.
