Biography

Jay was born in 1858. He was the son of Aaron Gaylord and Mary Mills. He passed away in 1921. [1]

FORMER RESIDENT PASSES AT TACOMA, WASHINGTON Word was received here recently of the death of a former resident, Jay M. Gaylord, who passed away at his home in Tacoma, Wash., on Frday, March 15th [1921]. The deceased was born in this city in 1858, and he was married here in 1888 to Miss Virginia Gray of this city who with four children are left to mourn his loss. Some two years ago he contracted the "flu" from the effects of which he never recovered. The funeral services were held at Tacoma and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery there. The deceased was a member of the Episcopal church and was highly esteemed in his home community. Besides the wife and children there remain a sister and a brother both residing in the west. [2]
