The son of William Gaylord Jr. & Anna (Porter) Gaylord of Windsor, he was unmarried. In the will of William Gaylord proved Sept., 1673, to "Hezikiah Gaylord my grandson (who now lives with my son John) four rods breadth in the land over the great river "that lieth next to the land I gave his father";

"Gaylord, Hezekiah, Windsor, who deceased 12 September 1677. Taken by Henry Wolcott, Jr., Joseph Elsworth. Legatees, the Brothers and Sisters, viz: John Gaylord, William Gaylord, Ann Phelps, Hannah Crandall, Joseph Gaylord & Nathaniel Gaylord, the two last by the Father only.

In May 1678, his administrators petitioned the General Assembly to sell some of his land to pay his debts.^[1]
