Biography

Margaretha was born on 25 Jun 1769^[1]. She is the daughter of Johann Gaßmann and Maria Güll. She had her confirmation on 10 Apr 1781^[2]. On 1 Dec 1800 (converted from 18 Frimaire IX, the French Republican date in the original record) she married Michael Häusser, carpenter, age 20y 5w 3d, (born 24 Oct 1780), son of the late farmer Michael Häusser and Margaretha Rohe, who was born in Rott. She died on 1 Mar 1826^[4].

Notes

1. The death record^[4] erroneously gives her age at death as 55 years.

2. At the time of her confirmation she would have been barely 12 years old. This is quite unusual, but her identification within the extended Gaßmann family seems sound. Johann Jacob Gaßmann, identified as "late" on the record of her confirmation^[2] died on 16 Mar 1779 in Birlenbach^[5].
