Biography

Ann was baptised November 17, 1797 in South Petherwin, Cornwall. She was the daughter of Digory Geake and Elizabeth Sandercock.[1]

She married William Davy on February 1, 1816 in South Petherwin. He was "of Petherick, County of Devon" and she was "of this parish." She signed her name in the parish register and William made his mark X. Witnesses were Digory Geake and Digory Geake.[2]

They had a daughter Mary Ann Davy born 1822 in South Petherwin, Cornwall, the same parish in which their marriage took place. Son John Davy was born 1827 in Plymouth St Andrew, Devon.[3]

According to the 1850 Census for Mercer county, Pennsylvania, William and Ann had 2 children born in Pennsylvania - son George born 1838 and daughter Selina born 1842. John, age 22, is with them as well at this time.[4]William is also listed as a "stone mason" the same occupation he had in Plymouth in 1827 when son John was born.

By 1860, William and Ann and daughter Selina are living in Jackson Center, Mercer county, Pennsylvania, William died the following year on June 10th in Sandy Lake, Mercer county.[5]

In 1870, Ann / Annie is staying with daughter Selina and her husband Uriah Forrest and 4 children in Hempfield, Mercer county.[6]

Ann died October 2, 1872 in either Sandy Lake or Hempfield, Mercer county and is buried alongside her husband in Jackson Center Presbyterian Cemetery in Jackson Center, Mercer, Pennsylvania, USA.[7]
