Biography
Walter Geappen was born on 23 April 1865 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, the son of Harriet Geappen (nee Mason) and James Geappen.[1][2]
He married Elizabeth Atkins in 1890 in Victoria.[3] Their children were:
- Walter Budds Geappen (1891–1962)[4]
- Leslie Claude Geappen (1894–?)[5]
- Myrene Elizabeth Geappen (1903–?)[6]
Walter was a member of the crew of the yacht "Myrene" that competed in 1886.[7]
He died on 12 November 1941 at 16 Hillside Avenue, Northcote, Victoria.[8]
Research notes
Walter's death record erroneously states his mothers name 'Elizabeth Ann'.[2] It should be 'Harriet'.[1]
