Biography

Charles was born about 1840. He passed away about 1919.

on his birth certificate his name is spelled Gary it was suspected that the church changed it. He was Protestant of the Anglican Faith his children were baptized Catholic. He and his wife Bridget were from Military families. came to Montreal from Ontario to join the Army he was in the 60th Rifles. He was a soldier in H>R>S 66th regiment. He was living at 25 centre street in Point Saint Charles Montreal Qc when he died. Burial was at Mount Royal Cemetery section L 1037-F he was 79. on the 17th of aug 1863 he was a Private and Married Bridget the banns obtained by Rev.Charles Bauroft signed as bancroft at Trinity Anglican Church.

By 1878 his family attended Saint Gabriels's Parish church in Point Saint Charles. He wasn't there for his two daughters baptisms one in that year or for the baptism of Bertha Agatha Gearey his daughter born on jan 27th 1883 the sponsors were John Gearey and Susan Woolridge.
