Biography
Donald was born in 1852. He is the son of Benjamin Geary and Berthia Godfrey. On the 1871 Canada Census, Donald lists his occupation as Seaman. [1]
Research Notes
- Donald Geary does not appear in next Canada Census (1881), nor are there any other records Nova Scotia Vital Statistics or Family Search records, the DOD is estimated as before 1881.
- His parents and several siblings remained in Nova Scotia.
- FamilySearch transcription of the 1871 records the last name, in error, as "Gary". Inspection of the document image shows the spelling as "Geary"
