Hi Melissa, thank you for your help with those recent merges!

I just got a merge request for Jess Fleming 10825 (1894-1982). I approved it, I hadn't added much data on him yet. Are you related to him? He was my maternal grandfather.

Hi Kathryn! I am not related to him. I was working on the possible duplicate profiles on Wikitree errors. Your Fleming must have been one I came across.

Regarding the African Americans you are adding from Horry County, you can just add the profiles as long as they are not duplicates. Duplicates will be easy to spot because they will have been added by me almost exclusively. I started with the census, but have also been finding other sources because I am trying to connect everyone as I go. There is no special project box, sticker or category at this time. The African American Project is a sub-project of the American History Project.

Now I am curious if your husband is related to my children since their father is from Horry County.

Hi Melissa!

In July 2019, you made 1000+ (actually, over 1200!) contributions to our Shared Tree! I commend for your time and effort. Keep up the great work!

Melissa, Hold for just awhile on the merging of Jackson-33780 and Jackson-28219. I think they are the same Samuel Jackson but doubt that Dempsey is Samuel's son. I think we have DNA to prove that but will take some time to gather source info. Will get back with you asap.

Hi Melissa!

Thanks for wanting to help with Martha Ann Holliday's profile. I definitely welcome help as I am swamped at the moment. :)

In regards to her "preferred" name, I listed her as "Sr. Mary Melanie" rather than "Sister Mary Melanie" in order to stay consistent with the G2G guidelines and other Sisters of Mercy and how they're named. Let me know your thoughts, and if it should be changed back.

Thanks! Amber

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for working on deep ancestors! You might want to look for a better source for Petticoate-1 and Lewis-33204. Right now they are only linked to unsourced Find A Grave memorials. This is a very indirect type of source and not sufficient for pre-1700 profiles. See the Pre-1700 self-certification quiz, Question 5. For examples of good sources, see [[1]].

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. It looks like you are already doing the things recommended by the After Adopting Orphans FAQ. We really appreciate you becoming the caretaker of profiles!

On Susannah Tanner, not the same Susannah. My Susannah dad died in 1815, he was born in the 1720s.

I took a quick look, and it looks like Frances' first husband's last name was "Meadows", but her parents names were "John Martin and Eliz/Elizabeth Martin". So I think the marriage record just used her name at the time of marriage, rather than her maiden name. Her profile could definitely use some cleaning up though, so thank you for pointing that out!
