William was born in 1896. He is the son of Thomas Geddes and Wilhelmina Mansfield. His mother files a declaration in April 26, 1936 to legally register his birth in 1896.
William's draft registration of 1942 describes him as a Professor at the University of Minnesota, with blue eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, height 5' 7", weight 144 pounds, with scars over the left eye and on the left knee.
