Biography

At her marriage Ellen is recorded as being a domestic servant living at New Bigging (modern name Newbiggin), Tealing, Forfar. Her husband Henry Summers was living at East Shielhill, Tealing and it appears that the couple went there to live after they married, and where, eight days later, their first child was born prematurely.

Ellen's usual place of residence at the time of her death was Gorrie Cottage, Strathmartine, Dundee.
