Biography

James is first found mentioned in the year 1574 in connection with lands granted by the Prior of Pluscarden, see the Register of the Privy Council of Scotland 1545 - 1632.

The next mention is in 1582 - Confirmation by the King of charter by Alexander (Seytoun), prior of Pluscarden, to James Geddie in Urquhart, and Janet Davidson his spouse, of 10 acres of the lands of Urquhart, etc., Elginshire. Dated at Pluscarden, 28th October 1582. James Seytoun, lawful brother of the laird of Lathrisk, is a witness. Confirmed 20th August 1584. — Lib. xxxv. No. 918.
