John Gee has been shown with parents Peter Gee and Alice Wylde, for which no sources have been provided. This information may come from the Millenium File, which is not a quality source. John's parents are being disconnected until such time as quality sources are provided.
It is uncertain when John Gee came to New England. There was a John Gee who at age 18 came in the ship Transport in 1635, but there is no evidence that this is the same person. There was a Peter Gee, fisherman, living at the Isles of Shoals in 1653, and was of Boston in 1667; he may have been a brother of John.[1] John Gee and Hazelelponi Willix married in Boston, Massachusetts by 1662.[2]
John and Hazelelponi had the following known children:[1]
John Gee was "lost at sea" and marked as deceased in the Edgartown town records Dec 27, 1669[1]
This John Gee's birth may be significantly later than 1617, and likely is, based on the birth year of his wife. A John Gee was baptized in Mancetter, Parish, Warwickshire, England August 24, 1636.[3] It is uncertain whether the John Gee baptized in 1636 is this same John Gee.
No quality sources have yet been found to show that this John Gee was the son of Peter Gee and Alice Wylde. The birth years in their WikiTree profiles tie in with the 1617 birthdate listed for John Gee, but without sources we just don't know.
