Biography

Charles was Christened on the 20 Jul 1817 in Arundel, Sussex, England, United Kingdom. [1]

Charles came to Western Australia with his father, stepmother and siblings on the Caroline, arriving on 12 October 1829.[2] and grew up in Perth.

He married Rebecca Treasure on 23 September 1839 [3] in Guildford.[4] They did not have children.

DEEDS OF GRANT. THE undermentioned Deeds of Grant in fee-simple of Country Grants and Town Allotments have been executed by the Governor in Council since the publication of the last list, and are ready for delivery to the parties interested TOWN LOTS....Charles Gee, Perth P 8...[5]

In the 1849 Toodyay census, it is noted that he had two acres of wheat and one male and one female in the household [6]

He come back to Perth and was appointed as the foot police of the town (Guildford[7]) in the 15th of December 1851 replacing Patrick Doyle who has resigned. [8]

S. Hyde, the landlord of the Vine Tavern, was reported by the police for having his house open after hours and was admonished by the sitting Magistrate. Mrs Hyde, the landlady of the same Tavern, was fined 3s for using insulting language to Policeman C. Gee on his beat. [9]

Charles was illiterate.[2]

2023 - The WA police historical society were contacted regarding any addition police records for Charles; other than those on their website, unfortunately, they were unable to find any additional records.
