Biography
Rev Ferdinand Gehrs was my great Grandfather. He served as Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church, in Mount Prospect, IL. He was pastor for 10 years before the church first used English in a service. He also was a minister that provided services to the German POWs that were detained at Arlington Fields providing communion while his children handed out cookies. He died in 1964.
