Geib, 73, of Mount Pocono, died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at her home. Born in Long Island, New York, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Dorothy (Cooke) Geib. Virginia was a resident of the Pocono Mountains area for the past 30 years and, prior to that, she resided in the Flushing, Queens, New York, area. She was employed in the billing department at the Flushing Hospital in New York for 15 years and later worked at SonaCare in New York. She was of the Lutheran faith. She is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Markus of Effort, and a son, Michael D. Sferrazza of Levittown, New York; her former husband, David Sferrazza of St. Cloud, Florida; her stepchildren, Josephine M. Sferrazza and Michael Davila; a stepsister, Varian Succo; five grandchildren: Stevie Leigh Morneault, Samantha Joann Sferrazza, Lindsay Marie Markus, David Frand Sferrazza and Paige Lin Markus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Katherine Trvers. The family will receive friends form 6 p.m. until the time of the services Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 35 Sterling Road/Route 196, Mount Pocono. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
