Biography

John was born in Michigan, the son of Nicholas And Gertrude Geierman.

In 1880, the Geierman family lived on their farm in Frenchtown, Monroe, Michigan. The household included Nicholas Geierman, 45, a farmer, and his wife Gertrude, 43. They were both born in Prussia (Germany), as were their parents; their seven children, all b. Michigan, except for the eldest one: Joseph, 19, b. Germany, works the farm; John, 16, works the farm; William, 14, in school; Mary, 12, in school; Peter, 10, in school; Jacob, 8, in school; and Lewis, 3. Also living with them was a servant, Magdalena Westrich, 56, b. Germany. [1]

John married and had at least three children. He is buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery #2, Carleton, Monroe, Michigan. John spelled his last name with two n's. [2]
