Biography

Johannes "John" Geil was born on January 15, 1830, in Selzen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, his father, Karl, was 24 and his mother, Katherine, was 29. He married Anna Marie Kissling on December 9, 1852, in his hometown. They had ten children in 19 years. He died on July 17, 1910, in Wisconsin having lived a long life of 80 years, and was buried there.
