Mary Zehnle was born a daughter of the Geise's in December of 1841 in Alterdorf, Germany.After coming to the United States of America, she married Ambrose Zehnle in St. Francis Solanus Church in Quincy, Illinois on 21 April 1868.
Ambrose and Mary had eight sons.
Francis, also known as Frank, was born on 15 May 1869, married Rosa Schutte, and had four children.
Ambrose, Jr. was born 6 on January 1871.
George was born on 27 July 1872 and married Elizabeth Kamphaus.
John and a twin brother who died as an infant - was born on 25 April 1874.

Andrew, were born on 3 January 1879.Andrew was ordained a Franciscan priest and from then on was known as Fr. Berard.
Fred was born on 29 December 1881. They had two daughters, Ella, born in 1876 and died when she was eight
Julia, born on 29 August 1885, who married John Cramsey.
