Teresa was born on Christmas Eve in 1923 to Matthias Geisler and Thekla Kopczynski, on the North Side of Pittsburgh. Teresa was a Col in the U.S Air force. She worked with Jonas Salk in developing the Polio Vaccine, and was one of the first test recipients. Much of her career involved working with polio victims as a physical therapist. She married James A Goldner. She passed away in Jan of 2014. She was buried with full military honors in Arlington Cemetery in October 2014 with many family members in attendance.

Goldner; stepmother of Michael (Paula) Goldner and Kathleen King; sister of Martin Geisler, Regis Geisler and the late Francis, Thomas, Louis, Charles Geisler, Martha Hester, Patricia Geisler, Thecla Collins, Mary Ann Duffy, and Rita Andrews. Family will welcome friends Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1600 Stone Mansion Drive at Rt. 910, Sewickley, PA 15143, Franklin Park/Wexford. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ferdinand Parish on Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery. Terry, between serving her country with the U.S. Army and as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, worked as a physical therapist aiding polio victims at Municipal Hospital, during Dr. Jonas Salk's research at the hospital developing the Polio Vaccine.[1]
