Biography
Florence Edith Gell was born in Lancashire, England on 20 October 1877 to Robert Gell and Ann Jane Quirk. She was baptized at Wesleyan Methodist, Edge Lane in Stretford on 29 November 1877.[1] She worked as a school teacher.[2] Florence married Basil Glover Wood on 3 January 1906 in Braddan, Isle of Man.[3] They had 4 children, the last of whom was born in Canada:
It is likely that Florence became a homemaker after she married. The family immigrated to Canada in 1913; according to the 1921 Canadian census, she spoke French and English.[4]
Florence is buried alongside her husband at Cimetière Protestant de Shawinigan Falls.[5]
