Biography

Married to Joseph Brien on 7 January 1858, at Ste. Cecile Parish, in Milton, Shefford, Quebec, Canada. Joseph Brien was the son of Joseph Brien, farmer, and of Elisabeth Charboneau [spelling?] of this parish. Tharsile Gendreau was the daughter of Joseph Gendreau, farmer, and of Louise Chapin [spelling?] of this parish. [1]

In the 1911 Census of Canada, Tharsile was living in the household of her son-in-law, Noel Carpentier, and her daughter, Celina, in St. Germain-de-Grantham, Quebec. She is listed as Therril [indexed by Ancestry.com as Therrie] Brien, age 69, widowed, born in June 1841, in Quebec, and mother-in-law to the head of household. [2]

In the 1921 Census of Canada, Tharsile was living in the household of her son-in-law, Noel Carpentier, a farmer, and her daughter, Celina, in St. Germain Parish [St. Germain-de-Grantham], Drummond-Arthabaska District, Quebec, Canada. She is listed as Tarsile Jiandreau [indexed by Ancestry.com as Farnete Jeandreau], age 82, widowed, born in Quebec. [3]

Buried on 10 September 1926, in St. Germain-de-Grantham, Quebec, Canada. Widow of Joseph Brien. Church register was signed by Arthuer Carpentier, Noel Carpentier, Nelson Brien, Ovila Richard, Napoleon Carpentier, and Elzear Carpentier. [4]
