Joseph Philippe Gendron was born May 18, 1774 and baptized four days later at Verchères. He was the sixth child and third son the son of Hyacinthe Gendron and Marie-Angelique Labossier. Sadly, his oldest sister had died four earlier, so he would never know her and over the next 14 years, five more of his younger siblings would die young or as infants.
Joseph married Suzanne Laurence on Feb. 22, 1813 at N-D-de-Montreal.
NOTE: The PRDH source, family No. 39752 states that his name was Joseph Hyacinthe Gendron, but he is clearly Joseph Philippe at his baptism.
