On 26 October 1840, she married Étienne Tranquille in Châteauguay. The Saint Joachim parish register states that the marriage was between "Etienne Tranquille, fils majeur de François Tranquille, cultivateur, et d'Angélique Duquet, de cette paroisse, d'une part, et Domitille Gendron, fille mineure de Joachim Gendron cultivateur, et de Félicite Hebert, aussi de cette paroisse, d'autre part; . . . . en présence de Louis Tranquille, d'Antoine Gendron, et de plusieurs autres parens et amis."[2] The couple had at least 8 children, including:

By 1870, the couple had emigrated to the United States. Domitille died 30 May 1892 in Fitchburg, Worcester, Massachusetts as the result of an injury sustained in a railroad accident. The death record states that she was 73 years, 9 months and 17 days of age. It also identifies her spouse as "Stephen Dufort" and her parents as Joachim Gendron and Felicite Hebert of Canada.[3] She is buried in Saint Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.[4]
