Italian citizen. Moved from Italy to Stockholm, Sweden, in 1885. He worked as a merchant and traveling salesman. He was married and lived with his children in Stockholm until his death 1921. The wife was probably left in Italy. [Source: Rotemansarkivet, Stockholm]
In the 1900 census, he was listed as married to Amanda Kristina Jönsson. They were not listed together in the 1900 census, when she lived with the family for whom she was housekeeper, or in the 1910 census, when he was listed as a traveling salesman.
In the 1890 census, it is noted that he claims to be a Swedish subject, but in the 1910 census, he is listed as an Italian citizen.
