Biography

William, son of John and Elizabeth Genge was born July 7 and christened October 6, 1793. Registered by Henry Hayman, curate.

"A son of Mr. GRANG, of Anchor Point, Newfoundland, complained of the French having stopped his Father fishing at Salmon River, that had been in his family for nearly a century. This year they had taken it away from him altogether." Captain ROCK in a letter to Earl DUNDONALD, printed in WEEKLY HEARLD & CONCEPION BAY ADVERTISER 1849 (March 21)
