Marie Elizabeth Mary Genonville was born on September 10, 1844, in Baden Prussia, the daughter of Katharine Weisheit and Louis Genonville. She was baptized 22 Sep 1844 • Breisgau u. Freiburg, Baden, Deutschland. She left Germany and returned to her family's ancestral home in France at about age 17 and then lived in Paris for 7 years. She emigrated to the US, arriving in June 1871 and was married that year to Rev Johannes Dejung in Iowa, so perhaps there was a remote engagement. They moved several times before he took the pastorship of Rhinelander German parish, where he stayed until retirement. They had eight children in 22 years. She died on February 9, 1910, at the age of 65, and was buried in Cameron, Wisconsin.
