Biography

Cora E. Genthner was born October 1860-1861 in Maine, daughter of Gorham Genthner and Mary E Genthner.

10 June 1870--When she was 9 years old, Cora E. Genthner lived and attended school in Waldoboro, Lincoln Co., Maine with her father, Gorham-34, mother, Mary E -27 and younger brother, Willie H, aged 5. All members of the family had been born in Maine. Gorham was a farmer. Several Genthner families lived nearby, so she likely had a large community of extended family.

Cora E Genthner and Roscoe D. Winchenbach were married 25 November, 1876 in Waldoboro, Maine. The ceremony was officiated by J. P. Simonton, Clergyman.The bride's calculated age from records was 16. The groom was 31.

16 June 1900-- Cora E.-38 and her husband, Roscoe, a 55 year-old farmer, had been married 23 years. Cora had given birth to 10 children/10 still living. They lived and worked on their farm in Waldoboro town (west part), Lincoln, Maine with their children: Mattie E -19; Carrie M-16; Francis D-13 ; Roscoe L-11; Sammie-9; Fannie E-7; Julia H-5 and Thomas E., aged 4 mos. All family members had been born in Maine.

03 May 1910-Cora E -49 and Roscoe-65, lived on their home farm. Included in the household: Fanny E -16, who worked in a clam? factory; Julie -14; Tomas L -10. Helen E Cook. Roscoe's sister, aged 73, also lived with the family.

She was widowed 04 December 1914, when Roscoe passed away.

She passed away in 1928, at the age of 67-68. BURIAL Dutch Neck Cemetery Waldoboro, Lincoln Co., Maine
