Robert married Judith Joyner, daughter of Philip Joyner. She was born 1732 in Albemarle, and died 1803 in Jefferson Co TN. Robert then married Rachel West 13 Nov 1804 in Jefferson Co TN.
In 1761, Robert's father-in-law, Phillip Joyner made bequests to five children of Robert & Judith, indicating the couple had been married probably at least 10 years. This would necessarily place him as one of the oldest children. Robert's children moved from Virginia to Tennessee in the earliest years of settlement.
