William Geoghegan was born on 3 June 1781 in James, Dorchester, Maryland, son of John Calvin Geoghegan (1755–1845) and Diannah Harris (1757–1815).

His siblings were:

William (30) married Mary Aaron in Dorchester, Maryland, United States on 8 February 1812.[4]

William (34) married Mahala Travers (35) (born in Taylors Island, Dorchester) on 1 November 1815 in Dorchester County, Maryland.[2] [3]

William married Sophia Barnes in New York, United States on 11 February undefined.[5]

In 1850, William Geoghgan (68) in Dorchester, Maryland, United States. [6]

William died on 6 March 1853 in Taylors Island, Dorchester, United States, aged 71. He was buried in Bethlehem Cemetery, Taylors Island, Dorchester County, Maryland.[7]
