Biography

Gideon was born in 1736 to John Swaddock George and Alice (Robinson) George. He had five brothers and three sisters. He also had two half brothers and three half sisters from his fathers third marriage. He passed away in 1822.

Gideon's father John Swaddock George is believed to have been born born Dec. 15 (Family Bible record says Dec. 25), 1702, in Haverhill, Mass. He first married Alice Robinson, before 1724. She died Feb, 20,1752. He then married, second, a widow, Sarah England, July 15, 1752; she died March 20, 1759. Finally he married his third wife, Sarah (Ash) Colby, widow of Samuel Colby, Jr. She was born March 11, 1727/28 in Amesbury, Mass.
