Hampton E. George, 50, died of sudden heart failure on 25 August 1907 at 50 Lime Ave., LONG BEACH, LA County, CA. (original address and city were crossed out and amended with this address). He had stayed there for one day. He lived in CA for 18 years. Hampton, a “mining man”, was born 18 January 1857 in Illinois, the son of E.B. George (b. Ohio) and Malita McDonald (b. Kentucky). The informant to his death was his wife, Mrs. H.E. George, of 802 Kensington Rd., Los Angeles, CA. [6] [7]
Hampton Ellis George died, aged 50, in 1907. He is buried with his mother at Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, CA. His father is buried in Harrison, Nebraska. Hampton’s wife remarried, and is buried with her second husband in Santa Ana, CA. Hampton’s son is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, CA.

“ Born January 18, 1857, Knox co., Illinois. m. in Lancaster co., Nebraska, November 28, 1887, Miss Sadie Bell Kiel, age 19, b. June 19, 1868, Mansfield, Richland co., Ohio, the dau. of Franklin (b. Phil. Pa. ) and Eliz (Howard) Kiel. Hampton was a resident of Lincoln, Nebraska for about 25 years, moving to Los Angeles, California in 1889. Hampton, was involved in real estate and salt mining near present Las Vegas. He died at the home of [bro. in law] William Kiel, 50 Linn Ave., Los Angeles, August 25, 1907, age 50 years, 7 months & 7 days. Burial was in Rosedale cemetery, next to his mother Malita.
DIES SUDDENLY- Hampton Ellis George a Los Angeles real estate and [salt] mining man, was stricken with heart failure this morning at the home of William Kyle [Kiel], on Linn Ave. and died almost instantly, before the horror stricken eyes of his wife, who lay in bed beside him. Mr. and Mrs. George who live at No. 802 Kensington Road, Los Angeles, drove down in a buggy Saturday and intended to return home Tuesday.
