Lamar L., 81, left his earthly body and entered into the arms of his heavenly Father on January 19, 2004. He was one of 17 children born to Bert and Mary George in Aristes, PA on August 27, 1922. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. His devotion extended to not only his family, but his extended family, friends, and his church, Olivet Baptist Church, where he spent many hours behind the scenes painting nursery rooms, driving the bus for youth to summer camp or choir trips, mowing lawns and the list goes on. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of 61 years; son Glenn (Judy); daughters, Karen (Dan) Burnett and Linda (Ed) Crist. He is also survived by six granddaughters: Sami (Julian) Hobia, Ginger (Lee) Magill, Jennifer (Stephen) Gilmore, Lynna (Kenneth) Brown, Elizabeth (Steve) Deas, and Lexie Crist; and two grandsons, Derek and Darin Burnett; 5 great granddaughters, 5 great grandsons; and the first great great grandchild expected in March. His surviving siblings include 1 brother, 2 sisters, and a special nephew, Johnny (Mona) George, and many other nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 23, 2004 at Olivet Baptist Church, 1201 N.W. 10th. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N. MacArthur 495-9292
