OBITUARY: Barney Lee Georges, 85, of Dime Box, Texas and formerly of Round Top was called home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Barney was born in Round Top, Texas on September 30, 1934, the son of Reinhardt Georges and Paula Giese Georges. He married Doris Faye Kiel on March 3, 1957, in Round Top.
Barney graduated from Round Top-Carmine High School in 1954. He was employed at Don Nagel’s Garage in Round Top before purchasing the business in 1973. Barney owned and operated the Barney Georges Garage for 19 years prior to retiring in 1992.
After moving to Dime Box in 2000, he and his wife joined St. John’s Lutheran Church and were lifelong members of the Hermann Son’s Fraternal Organization.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Georges. Survivors are his two children, a daughter Jan Perry and her husband Steve, and a son Gaylon Georges; six grandchildren, Jay Roberts and wife Minnie, Shiloh Perry, Kacee Jo Taylor and husband Austin, Mason Georges, Caymon Georges and Klaye Georges. He also leaves five great grandchildren, Bryn Roberts, Brayla Roberts, Brek Roberts, Kade Nettles, and Sid Taylor.
A private family burial will be held at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Dime Box at a later date.
