They emigrated to Canada and were the lighthouse keepers on Saturna Island. "Arriving in 1889, James and Joan Georgeson were the first light keepers at East Point. The job officially passed to their son Peter in 1921, and subsequently to Peter's brother Henry, who ran the light station from 1939 to 1940."[3][4][5][6] Both James and his brother, Henry received long service medals for their work in this demanding role.[7]
