James Geraghty (1877-1920)

James Geraghty was born in 1877 at Box Hill, Colony of Victoria. He was the son of William Garrety and Anne Barry. ^[1]

He married widow, Ann Eliza Slater (nee Peterson) in 1898 in Colony of Victoria. ^[2]

They had 10 children:

FATAL EXPLOSION OF GELIGNITE

James Geraghty, who lived at Surrey road Blackburn, died in the Melbourne Hospital yesterday evening from injuries received on January 26. He inserted a charge of gelignite in a rabbit burrow with the object of killing rabbits. The charge exploded prematurely, inflicting very serious injuries to Geraghty's hands and face.
