She arrived from Switzerland to New York in 1871 at six years old with her family.
Destination: Montreal, Québec, Quebec, Canada. Elise's family first landed in NY. Then on to Montreal, where they signed documents and then traveled by ship down the Great Lakes to Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. The Gerbers never lived in Canada.
Buried in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak, Michigan
