Biography

John was born 1842 in Ohio. He is the son of John M. Gerber and Elizabeth Steiner. John married Anna Geiger in 1868. After their children had all been born in Ohio, John got the "Western" fever and moved to Kansas in the year 1885 and from thence the following year to Pratum, Oregon. [1] John died in 1922. [2]

Name

A few records give John the middle initial "J." including his marriage record and the birth record of one or more of his children. [3] [4] It is unclear whether these are mis-transcriptions or if John used more than one middle name during his life.
