Laura, and her sister Regina were born in Missouri to Adolph (aka Andrew) Gerhardt and his first wife Justina (Gertrude) Brill. After Justina’s death at age 26, in 1883, Adolph married Eva in 1886. Adolph and Eva’s children were born in Washington state between 1889 and 1904.
